Putin's Real Plan for Iran

I could believe that Russia would sell a weapons system to Iran.
The Interfax and ITAR-Tass news agencies cited unidentified sources in the Russian military-industrial complex as saying that Russian and Iranian officials had signed contracts in November that would send up to 30 Tor-M1 missile systems to Iran over the next two years.
In Vladimir Putin’s “managed democracy” Russia is well on its way back to the days of the Soviet Union.
He resurrected the Soviet national anthem and unveiled plaques commemorating dictator Josef Stalin. He publicly endorsed the jailing of environmentalists on dubious espionage charges. And three years after Russian forces pulled out of Chechnya in 1996, Putin sent troops back into the separatist republic to fight an unpopular war against an elusive enemy that kills scores of Russian soldiers in hit-and-run attacks every month while federal troops take revenge by killing or torturing scores of Chechen civilians, international observers say.
Perhaps Putin thinks by allying himself to Iran, he can somehow get his hands on more of the oil reserves in the middle east. I think it would be in the best interest of the Russian people to ensure their alliances with the west are not broken. We can be a powerful ally and an even more powerful enemy.

Iran's plans are pretty clear at this point. They have openly announced their plans to have a nuclear program. They openly show support for terrorist groups, including Hamas and al-Qaeda. They unlawfully imprison people who disagree with the current regime. It's time for Mr. Putin to reevaluate his alliances and decide where his loyalties lie. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's days are numbered.
