MNDCS COMPLETES PROJECTS IN AD DIWANIYAH
CAMP ECHO, Iraq – Multinational Division Central-South Soldiers completed three civil-military cooperation projects this week in the Diwaniyah province.
In al Shamiyah, 30 kilometers south of ad Diwaniyah, MNDCS soldiers provided a new sewage system for 60 houses. The new system will improve the problem of flooding during the rainy season.
Another project involved upgrading the central fuel station with a 500 kilowatt generator to improve the efficiency of the station.
The third project completed this week was a new 3.5 kilometer road built in the northern part of al Diwaniya city.
CNN spoke to Sean S. an operator for _____ Energy, LLC concerning the 500 kW generator. "Yeah, 500 kilowatts is a lot of electricity. Enough to power 200 to 500 homes."
We asked Sean if electricity like this could pose a hazard to the Iraqis. "Only if they grab the conductors with their bare hands. I'm sure that the Iraqi people are far happier just to get the fuel.", he said. We asked Sean if he thought it may just be a plot by President Bush to electricute innocent Iraqis.
"What are you? Idiots?! It's electricity for a pumping station not electric chairs!"
CNN has information from an undisclosed source that the sewer system may pose a hazard to Iraqi children who could fall in and drown and that the new road may lead to more traffic accidents. More on this story as it develops.
