Biting the Hand...
Today's Review-Journal has another excellent editorial. This time it is looking at the irony of EPA grants going to organizations that sue the federal government. Biting the hand that feeds them, so to speak.
This seems to be a recurring theme in a lot of non-profit organizations. The ACLU has 501(c)(3) status and continually files lawsuits against the federal government for things as trivial as a cross or a display of the Ten Commandments. This is our tax dollars paying off a group that doesn't have to pay taxes. Double whammy on America but we put up with it.
When I was in the Navy, our ship was harassed by members of Greenpeace, a non-profit organization, because we were a nuclear powered vessel. They kept us from dropping anchor in a port by sailing their boat under the anchors. Once a year we had the option of donating to a charity of our choice. One of the choices was Greenpeace. Can you say 'stupid' boys and girls? I knew you could.
Time to put the brakes on this lunacy. You want government grants? You don't sue the government. You want to keep your 501(c)(3) status? You demonstrate that you are actually interested in civil rights and not just a bunch of money-grubbing slimeball lawyers out to push a political agenda.
