Ray Nagin has no concern for the welfare of people. There is no drinking water, intermittent power, and toxic substances in the streets of New Orleans but what does he care? As long as people get back to work and start bringing in those tax dollars so he can get his paycheck, he is happy. Of those 180,000 people he wants to bring back in, how many will get ill from the filthy conditions?
"We must offer the people of New Orleans every chance for a sense of closure and the opportunity for a new beginning."A sense of closure would come if you and Ms. Blanco removed yourselves from office or at least accepted the responsibility for making the disaster worse by your inaction.
Oh, and how does he propose to get all of these people back into New Orleans? Busses, I guess.
